Devin is on a flat 7% right now. He wants to push wholesale harder, so here are four ways to reward him for growing it, run against your real product costs and real store orders. Every number shows what you keep after his pay.
Stores pay 55% of retail. Your cost to make the product (materials, maker pay, 5% waste) takes about 48 cents of every wholesale dollar. At 7%, Devin takes 7 cents. You keep the rest.
Drag to set how much wholesale comes in during one quarter. For scale, the last two orders together were $747, and the Year 2 plan aims for roughly $8K to $11K a quarter.
His pay per quarter under each option. The gray line is today's flat 7%. Everything above it is what the tier costs you to motivate more volume.
Works like tax brackets. Every dollar earns at least 7%, and the rate climbs only on the dollars above each line.
Most rep plans pay more for the first order. This one does the reverse, because stores that keep coming back are what makes Hambos worth more at sale.
Keep 7% on everything and add a cash bonus when the quarter clears a line.
Pays for opening stores and making the first order stick.
Devin's pay per quarter, and what you keep after his pay, at four levels of wholesale.
At today's pace, about $1,500 a quarter, options 1, 2 and 3 cost you the same as now or close to it. The difference only shows up once Devin actually grows the channel, and by then you're making far more.
How these numbers work: product cost uses the Costing tab in the Hambos Ops sheet (materials, maker pay, 5% waste, plus the $1 per piece built-in profit, so what you keep is slightly understated). "You keep" is before shipping, packaging labor and card fees. Option 2 assumes 40% of a quarter comes from opening orders and 60% from reorders. Option 4 assumes 1 new qualifying store at $1,500, 2 at $5,000, 4 at $10,000 and 6 at $15,000, each reordering within 90 days. Commission is paid only on orders Hambos has been paid for.
